This is a blog for those who are out to build that "better mousetrap". If you're an inventor and you're looking for other inventors to give you support, and also offer up support to other this is the place for you. That's it, plain and simple. We'll help each other, we'll share tears and laughter (mostly laughter, I'm hoping).

This show is going to be interesting. How is ABC going to protect itself from suits filed from original designers? ABC is relying upon the individual (inventors) for proof of patent search? Then they inadvertently broadcast the copy cat - meanwhile the original inventor can sue ABC for not doing their homework. Any thoughts?
Where did all the links to known American Inventor products go?
such as:
http://www.jimmybed.com/
http://www.wingdipper.com/american-inventor.html
http://www.addapole.com/
http://www.trangleball.com/
http://arpinodental.com/articles/Scott_Schroeder_Of_AllTerraSkates_Chosen.htm
Current google ( Scott Schroeder of AllTerraSkates) results in 345 links
Are there any others?
I believe they had contestants sign an agreement that makes the contestant liable if they infringe on someone elses product. Except for the fact that abc is broadcasting it. Which could make them liable by not doing their research. It would seem most prudent for them to only air products that already have a patent or are patent pending. They could choose to do a patent search on those whom move forward.
Since Mary's blog has been taken down I think this is the only web site with any posting action. Like the others have done I will post as Anonymous.
I auditioned, and I was called back - CONGRATULATIONS!- Trip plans were to be coordinated, background check completed and sent in - however just 3 hours after mailing the package in - a call... ring ( You have been eliminated, we are revamping the show ) What?! Very hard to believe a participant could be eliminated before they ever competed. No reason was given. I asked but they just responded, I can't tell you. - the show has been revamped. end of conversation.
Are there any other stories like this out there? Or if there are I guess you are not reading this post because why should you care.
WOW... the call backs for getting "the reversal" keep coming in. Feel free to stop in at my blog to check for additional comments.

Who watched American Idol last night? Can you imagine that format being applied to inventors... ouch!
Imagined Scene.
"Where did you come up with a lame idea like that?!!" the judge might say,"Bring in your parents, lets take a look at them", ohhhh no wonder. duh.

Hello Everyone -
A new web page has opened which lists some of the inventions seen on ABC's American Inventor television show.
www.inventorunderground.com
There is no information about whether the inventions continue in the contest or are disqualified, due to confidentiality and a desire not to spoil the show for viewers.
If you want more information about the inventions, there are links to most of the individual inventor's web pages.
Also, it you ARE an A.I. contestant please submit your invention there.

For the truth about the American Inventor "auditions", read here:
http://www.geocities.com/american_inventor
There's a new site I found today which is related to teh AI blog, its at:
americaninventorspot.com
I think it looks like it can be a good site. It has a nice gallery for inventors to submit their inventions for viewing and a fun interactive to vote on all the inventions on the show.
Not alot of action on the forums there yet but the comments seem extensive (which may be from the prior blog).
I had a lot of thinking to do with respect to entering or not entering some contests (Modern Marvels, Mominventors) last year - ultimately decided against them. Didn't like the whole idea of early publicity, signing over rights, and generally getting publicity when I'm really not ready to do so. My invention progress over the past year and a half is at thisinvention.blogspot.com, though it doesn't actually say what it is - not yet ready to market it.
